Wholesale markets have flourished in Birmingham since the mid-19th century, selling all manner of goods to the trade. 2017 marks the end of an era. The wholesale market is to move to a new site in Witton.
This exhibition celebrates the diversity and vibrancy of the wholesale market. Danny Howes has already established himself as a master of the human figure, perfectly capturing mood and emotion with his expressive brushwork and bold use of colour. Danny has spent hours exploring the markets and has produced a new body of work focusing upon the everyday lives of the traders and their customers.
These images are full of character, and show Danny Howes at the height of his powers. This is Danny's first one-man exhibtion at Reuben Colley Fine Art.
