Mick Jagger comes to Birmingham

Mick Jagger comes to Birmingham
In March 1964, Birmingham Town Hall played host to Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones.  Exactly 54 years later, Jagger returns to Birmingham in the form of a stunning silkscreen portrait by Andy Warhol.

It was also in 1964 that the first meeting took place between Warhol and Jagger, two of the 20th century's greatest cultural icons.  Eleven years later, their friendship bore creative fruit.  Warhol took a series of photos of Jagger, and produced a portfolio of ten extraordinary silkscreens.
